Zola Pack 98, of Robinson passed into eternal rest on Wednesday April 28, 2010 while at home surrounded by her family and loved ones. Services will be 10 AM Saturday May 1st 2010 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Dr. with Dr. Randy Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 PM Friday April 30, 2010 at the funeral home.
Zola was born in Salem, Arkansas on August 15, 1911 to George and Martha (Tungstel) Dobbs. She married the love of her life, Floyd Hamilton Pack, on June 15, 1933. This union was blessed with one child, Zola May. Zola was a loving mother, wife, sister and friend. She worked as a cook at the Waco State Home for over 30 years providing food and love to children from across the state. Zola was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and loved and trusted the Lord with all of her heart. She was a devoted Sunday school teacher to many. Throughout her life, Zola cared for her family and friends making sure that they knew of her interest in their lives.
Zola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Floyd, her daughter Zola May, step son Ray Pack and wife Drue, grandson Weldon Hamilton Ellinger, siblings Flora Dobbs Bray, Clarice Dobbs Hollingsworth, and beloved niece Lena Bray West and husband Ray.
Left to cherish Granny’s memory are grandchildren, Michelle McCollum and husband Terry, Howard Ellinger and wife Betty, Donna Ondrey and husband Bobby, Alan Ellinger and wife Sharon. Zola is survived by her brother Charles Dobbs, Special niece Martha Bray Brace and many other neices and nephews.
The joy of Granny’s life were her great-grandchildren, TJ McCollum and Wife Samantha, Dara Ondrey, Lindsey Ellinger, Kyle Ellinger, Sara Ondrey, Tyler McCollum, Ryan and Cody Ellinger, Travis Burleson, Nathan and James Adams and great-great granddaughter Kylie McCollum.
