Winnie Fletcher Dais, 86, of Hewitt, Texas, formerly of Coleman, Texas, died Monday January 2, 2017. Born December 19, 1930, she is predeceased by her parents Sloan and Kitty Fletcher, her late husband Bill Dais, brothers Albert and Charlie Fletcher, sisters Dollie Scott and Mary Ward, and stepsons Jerome Dais, Paul Dais, William Dais and Daniel Dais.
Winnie attended school at Talpa, Texas and was a homemaker most of her life. She was an avid rock hound, enjoyed basketball, volleyball, reading, travel and music. She entertained friends singing karaoke, and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. In her later years she lived at Senior Care in Hewitt, Texas where she made many friends.
Survivors include sisters Annie Mae Brimer of Coleman, Texas and Merle Spruill of Odessa, Texas; daughters Brenda Clarke and husband John of Temple, Texas; Louise Bates and husband Johnny of Hewitt, Texas; and Dolores Green and husband Fred of Loving, Texas; sons Ken Stafford of Waco, Texas, and Mark Dais and wife Vicki of Belton, Texas; Anita Dais of Fayetteville, NC, widow of Jerome Dais; and several generations of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on a later date at the Valera Cemetery in Valera, Texas. Instead of flowers the family requests donations be made to Meals on Wheels of Coleman, Texas or to Coleman Senior Center, both at 916 S Concho St, Coleman, TX 76834.
