Win Jane Schmid

Win Jane Schmid of Hewitt, Texas passed away March 5, 2025 in a Waco hospital. Win Jane was born in Taipei, Taiwan on February 14, 1954. She moved to Texas in 1984 to attend college at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. She married Steven Schmid on October 4, 1991 and they had thirty-three years of good times together. Win Jane was an excellent cook and many friends often spoke highly of her meals.

Win Jane was kind, creative, hard working and very smart. She loved animals especially our cats Peaches (Mommy) and Wilson (Boy). Win Jane knitted beautiful scarves and sweaters. She created pretty stained glass sun catchers. She loved to work in the yard. Win Jane worked as a RN at Scott and White Hospital in Temple for almost twenty years.

Win Jane is preceded in death by her father Shou-Ling Chia, her mother Shan-Shiuan Song Chia and two sisters. She is survived by her husband Steven Schmid, and her sisters Yu-Chen Chia and Hsiao Chin Chia, along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Win Jane will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, Texas 76706. Graveside services at Rosemound Cemetery are pending.
