Willie Ray Wells, 87, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 29 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, with Ken Riley officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors Monday, December 28 from 6-8p.m. at the funeral home.
Willie was born Jan. 27, 1928 to Gus and Nancy Wells. He served his country in the U.S. Army as part of the occupation forces in Japan following World War II. He retired from General Tire after 37 years. He was a member of Hewitt Community Church and he loved the Lord with unwavering faith. Willie was married to Janie Ruth Sandhoff on Jan. 1, 1950. Willie loved to hunt and fish and was an avid gardener following his retirement.
Willie is survived by his wife of almost 66 years, Janie Wells; sons, Darrell and wife Debbie, Bradley and wife Leise; daughters, Carolyn and husband Terry, Beth and husband Rudy. Willie was blessed with 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 5 step-great-grandchildren.
