Willie Marquez

Guillermo "Willie" Pequeño Marquez, 59, of Waco, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, with Pastor Joey Marquez officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 18 at the funeral home.
Willie was born on September 24, 1957 to Cleto Marquez Sr. and Hilaria Pequeño in Rosebud, TX. Willie was a great musician. He was founder, lead guitarist, and lead vocalist of Grupo Marquez. He enjoyed his family, friends, music, and of course his Natural Light.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents, Cleto Marquez Sr. and Hilaria Pequeño; daughter, Melissa Marquez; brothers, John Leija and Ruben Leija; and sister, Esmeralda Leija.
He is survived by his wife Justine Marquez; his sons, Cleto Marquez II and wife Candy, Joey Marquez and wife Mireya of Waco, Michael Marquez and wife Crystal of Midlothian; daughters, Melinda Garza and husband Luis, Sammie Marquez of Waco, and Martha Marquez of Alvarado; along with 14 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren that he loved so much; sister, Carmen Rodriguez and husband John; brothers, Mr. & Mrs. Jesse Marquez, Mr. & Mrs. David Marquez Sr., Mr. & Mrs. Benny Marquez, Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy Marquez Sr., and Mr. & Mrs. Cleto Marquez Jr., all of Petersburg, Tx., and Noe Leija of Wisconsin.
Pallbearers will be Cleto Marquez III, Willie Marquez, Lorenzo Garza, Juan Quiroz Jr, Rudy Marquez Jr., and Renie Carrizales.
