William (Will) Robert Halepaska Jr.

January 1, 1976 — September 2, 2024

Hewitt

William “Will” Robert Halepaska Jr. of Hewitt, Texas, passed away unexpectedly at home, Monday, September 2, 2024.

Will was born in Fort Walton Beach, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida on January 1, 1976. His family then returned to Victoria County where he attended school in the Industrial School District. After graduation, Will moved to Waco, Texas and received his degree from Texas State Technical College.

In June of 2008, Will met his soul mate, Kandace Nicole Campbell. They married December 11, 2010 in Victoria, Texas. Will and Kandace made their home in Waco, started a business (Pro Gear and Axle), and had a beautiful boy, Charli Matheus. Kandace and Charli were the most important people in Will’s life. To say he worshipped them would be an understatement. Will loved to tell stories and make plans for the future. He talked of Charli turning eighteen and watching Charli and Kandace sky dive. He would watch from the ground because “planes weren’t made to jump out of!” When Charli turned twenty-one, he planned to have his first drink with his dad. Night after night, Charli would sit in his daddy’s lap and listen to Will tell stories.

Will had many lifelong friends. Many described him as a true craftsman with “knowledge unmatched.” He was a pioneer at building, modifying, and improving large automotive equipment as can be seen in his “big black monster truck.”

Will was smart, funny, kind, loyal, and loved his family and friends deeply. We will miss you so much Willy.

Will was preceded in death by his grandparents James and Ann Halepaska, founders of Halepaska’s Bakery located in Victoria, Texas.

Will is survived by his wife Kandace Nicole; son Charli Matheus; parents William and Donna Halepaska; brother Bryan Halepaska (Melanie); sister Priscilla; father-in-law and mother-in-law Tim and Suzy Campbell; brother-in-law Timmy Campbell (Allie); brother-in-law Cassidy; sister-in-law Sarah Walters; nieces Mallorie Halepaska, Phoenix and Ivy Campbell, and Makayla Campbell; nephew Hunter Halepaska; and numerous aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life will be held with family and friends, Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 11:00am.
