Reynold William "Bill" Ramer, Jr.

January 4, 1941 — January 9, 2025

Reynold William "Bill" Ramer, Jr., 84, of Waco, Texas was called home by the Lord Thursday, January 9, 2025. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 20th at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco, with burial immediately following at Oakwood Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19th at the funeral home.

He was born on January 4, 1941 to Reynold William Ramer & Anna Mae Ramer in Indiana, Pennsylvania. When Bill was 5 years old they moved to Ajo, Az. He joined the Navy at 17 years old, serving his country for 4 years on both the USS Midway AND USS Ranger. In 1962, after completing his service, he moved back to Ajo to begin working in the copper mines before moving to Phoenix and graduating from Grand Canyon College. In 1969, he moved to Waco to attend Baylor University, where he met his bride Jean Stubblefield of Waco, Tx. The two married August 3rd, 1974 and had 2 children, Matthew William and Katherine Anna. Bill was an entrepreneur with many talents, which he developed into several businesses, ranging from home remodeling to building furniture and commercial store displays, including the original T-Shirts Plus franchise fixtures. In 1986, he started his longest running and most successful venture, Unpainted Furniture, serving the families of Waco and surrounding communities for 35 years offering solid wood furniture, and specializing in furniture refinishing and restoration, which made his business name an integral part of Waco history. To this very day, we still hear many stories from visitors who fondly remember the old building and furniture business, and sometimes we are blessed with stories of how their family heirlooms are still treasured.

Bill was an incredible husband; father, friend and role model who had the memory of an elephant, a sharp wit, and could tell a story unlike anyone else. He led a life full of rich memories, which he often shared with anyone who wanted to listen. He had a natural inclination to be a leader, taking care of his family and through the years and favored many of his employees as chosen family. He had an open heart that never strayed from loving the Lord. He carried a positive spirit and paired with his unwavering determination, he was never less than successful in finding a solution to any of life’s problems.

Bill is survived by his wife, Jean Ramer; son, Matthew Ramer; daughter, Katy Ramirez; daughter, Ginniene Taylor and husband Tim; brother, Gary Ramer and wife Martha; brother, Larry and wife Sharon; brother, Billy Ramer and wife Ruth; grandchildren, Mya Ramer, Ryland Ramer, Samuel Taylor and wife, Alexa, Christina (Taylor) Watters, Kyleigh Holmes-Martin, Braedyn Holmes-Martin; great grandson, Cillian Watters.
