William (Bill) Montgomery

William Carson (Bill) Montgomery, age 80, passed away on February 5, 2023. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2023 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco.

Bill was born February 20, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Paul Robert Montgomery and Mabel Dowden Montgomery. His family moved to Waco in 1959 and he joined them in 1961 at age 19. Waco, Texas was home to him the remainder of his life.

He retired from Certainteed, formerly Cameron Mills, after 30 years of service. After “retiring” he went on to work for Automatic Chef Co. of Waco for a number of years. His final place of employment before he truly retired at age 70 was Ultramation Inc. of Waco.

Bill, called “Little Bill” by his friends, was an avid fisherman. Deer hunting held a close second to his love of fishing. He loved and was loved by many friends who shared his enthusiasm for the sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy Carol Montgomery; older brother, David Montgomery; and an infant great-granddaughter.

Bill is survived by his sister, Jill Montgomery Hennegan and husband Kerry; son, Todd Montgomery; daughter, Kara Montgomery Brackin and husband Darrell; daughter, Rhonda Wooley and husband Billy; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
