William Beheler

May 19, 1946 — July 29, 2015

William E. “Bill” Beheler, 69, passed away peacefully at Providence Hospital in Waco, TX, on Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, with Rev. Darrel Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at White Rock Cemetery, Ross, TX. The family will receive visitors from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Friday, July 31, at the funeral home.

William was a fourth-generation Texan, born May 19, 1946, in Waco, to Edward L. “Boots” and Hattie E. (Heine) Beheler. William grew up in Elm Mott and graduated from Connally High School in 1964 where he was involved in many activities and was awarded numerous accolades for his athletic accomplishments. William served as a paratrooper in the Texas Army National Guard HQ Company 71st Airborne Infantry Brigade 36th Division. William graduated from Baylor University earning his BBA in accounting in 1972. William retired in 2013 after a 41 year career in accounting. He supported the Baylor Bears through good times and bad.
William enjoyed life, especially watching his grandchildren participating in their favorite activities. His favorite hobbies included playing golf with his son, daughter and son-in-law, fishing and tinkering in his workshop. William is remembered not only for his golf shots and putting skills, but for his knack to always have the right advice, the best joke and the ability to solve problems both big and small. He was a dedicated public servant and graciously volunteered his time and expertise to numerous organizations. William served White Rock Cemetery Association as treasurer for several years, Lakeview Little League as president and manager for 7 years, and Connally ISD for 9 years on the Board of Trustees including several terms as Board President. If needed, he was there. He had a giving heart and loved helping his family, friends and community however he could. He was a long time member of Elm Mott United Methodist Church.

William was preceded in death by his parents.

William is survived by his wife Sherry L. (Beard), his daughter Kim Rankin and husband Russ of Robinson, and son Brad Beheler of Waco. Grandchildren, Katelyn and Alyssa Rankin; Abbey and Reed Beheler, whom he dearly loved; brother James “Jim” Beheler of Elm Mott, two nephews Scott Beheler and wife Janie, of West, and Darrin Beheler of Arlington, as well as numerous cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mike Cunningham, Chris Blanton, Scott Anderson, Justin Dickey, Nick Straten, Ben Rachuig, Justin Adcock, and Jody Urbanovsky.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made in William’s honor to White Rock Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 505, Elm Mott, TX, 76640.
