Willem “Bill” Richter, 83, of Hewitt, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 20, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco. A private service will be held at a later date.
Bill was born March 15, 1939, in Heerlen, Netherlands. He married the love of his life, Aaltje Burghgraef, on June 30, 1963, in Kingston, New York. They loved dancing, travelling, country music, and each other. Bill and Aaltje raised their two children, Judith and Mark, in Hewitt, Texas. Bill worked at TYMCO in Waco for 22 years. He loved spending time in nature and tinkering with machines, but more than anything, “Opa” loved spending his time with family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Aaltje, parents Gerardus and Catharina, and seven siblings.
He is survived by his children, Judith Ann Black and husband Brad, and Mark Donald Richter and wife Angela; grandchildren Cannon Black, Colton Black, D.J., Clint, Marie, and Jasmine; eight great-grandchildren; brother Gerard Richter and wife Leila; and sister Saskia Choinsky and husband Arthur.
