Weldon Bryant Wilson, Woody, passed away in Gainesville, TX on April 23, 2021, where he had been living near his son. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 10:00 am, at Waco Memorial Park with Pastor Roy Marshall officiating.
Woody was born in Coolidge, TX on October 29, 1934 to Wyatt and Vester Wilson. He graduated Coolidge High School in 1953, and worked for Bird-Kultgen Ford for 37 years in the parts department. Woody and Jean, his wife of 51 years, lived in Hewitt and Golinda from 1972-2014. They were both members of First Baptist Church of Hewitt for years, and later, First Baptist Church of Golinda.
Woody was preceded in death by his parents, Wyatt and Vester Wilson; his wife, Martha Jean Wilson; his two sons, Bruce Wilson and Kenneth Wilson; his two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester and Betty Wilson and Raymond and Mary Wilson.
Woody is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Danny and Joy Harrison of Canton, TX; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Tommy Rogers of Marquez, TX; his two sons and their wives, Terry and Jackie Wilson of Alvin, TX and Ronnie and Pam Wilson of Lake Kiowa, TX; his five granddaughters and their spouses, Joddy and Shawn Ronje of Justin, TX; Elizabeth and Steven Chudej of Austin, TX; Shelly and Jet Miller of League City, TX; Sarah Wilson of Lorena, TX; and Nicole Wilson of Lake Kiowa, TX; six great-grandchildren, Kayla, Peyton, Nathaniel, Joshua, Case, and Maci; and two great-great grandchildren, Birkleigh and Dominic; along with several nieces and nephews he loved very much.
The family would like to thank NTMC of Gainesville, Pecan Tree Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Heart to Heart Hospice, and Pecan Grove Funeral Home.
