Weldon C. Parker, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 29, 2017. A graveside service will be held 10 am Monday, April 3rd, at Chapel Hill Cemetery, 3100 Greig Dr, Robinson, with Bro. Roy Marshall officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 pm on Sunday, April 2nd, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco.
Weldon was born February 27, 1933 on the Mackey Ranch in Bruceville, Texas. He attended Hewitt and Midway schools where he lettered in football all 4 years. He married his high school sweetheart, Rose Lawson, in June, 1952. He went to work shortly after graduating from Midway in 1950, starting with Washburn Electric as an electrician and soon became a master electrician. In 1963, he began his own successful electrical business, and in 1976, he combined this with a home building business for over 20 years. During that time, he became Mayor of Hewitt in 1973 and helped start the water and police departments. Weldon began the final phase of his working career in 1991 when he started the antique furniture restoration business, Minuteman of Texas, which he sold after 16 years. In Dec. of 2014, he married Bonnie Daniels, who had been a long-time family friend.
Weldon was an avid-hunter and outdoorsman all of his life, especially enjoying deer and varmint hunting. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up playing sports. He also loved watching Nascar races. Weldon was a member of Fidelis Masonic Lodge 1127 and had just received his 50 year pin last year. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hewitt for over 70 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.C. and Lillie B. Parker; his loving wife, Rose Parker; and his brother, Bobby Parker.
Weldon is survived by his wife Bonnie Parker; daughters, Janice and husband Larry Rinewalt, and Diane and husband David Moon; step-daughters, Danette and husband Robert Tollette, and Brenda and husband Bryan Light; grandchildren, Jason and Teri Rinewalt, Jeremy and Sandy Robinson, Jeffrey and Jalayne Rinewalt and Tessa and Freddy Jamerson. Great-Grandchildren include Elle and Easton Rinewalt; Cody Robinson; Kyndal and Jonah Rinewalt; Brianna, Myah and Brooklyn Jamerson and several step-grandchildren; and one brother, James and Shirley Parker.
Pallbearers will be Larry Rinewalt, David Moon, Jason Rinewalt, Jeremy Robinson, Jeffrey Rinewalt, Kenny Parker, and Stanley Parker. Honorary Pallbearers will include Martha and the Coffee Shop Crew in McGregor.
