Weldon was born November 5, 1932, in Leroy, Texas. He served in the United States Army from 1954-1956. Weldon was a barber for 38 years and owned the Southgate Barber Shop in Waco. His customers crossed multiple generations of families, and throughout his career, he gained many friends. Regardless of where he traveled, he always encountered someone he knew.
Weldon enjoyed auctions and flea markets and was a master at buying and selling. He could often be found late at night in his garage assembling a bicycle and watching an old tv western. He was a great listener, a skilled domino player, could dance a mean two-step, and always enjoyed sharing stories over a cold beer with good friends.
Weldon was a devoted husband and father, and he cherished family time together. He leaves behind many friends and relatives. He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Betty. He is survived by his son Stephen, his daughter-in-law Ellen, and his granddaughter Lorelei of Argyle; brother, Kenneth Leuschner and wife Joy, of Waco, and many nieces and nephews.
