Weldon Billings

March 15, 1930 — December 28, 2013

Weldon A. Billings, 83, of Robinson, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Providence Hospice. Graveside services will be Tuesday, December 31 at 2 p.m. at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, December 30 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home.
Weldon was born March 15, 1930 in Valley Mills, Texas to Emma and Fred Billings. He graduated from Valley Mills High School and attended Baylor University where he received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration. In 1951 he joined the United States Army. He was employed at General Tire for 37 years retiring in 1987.
Weldon, also known as “Tata”, was a kind, compassionate and intelligent man who gave generously of himself to all he knew. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching his grandchildren when they were young. He was a talented man in many ways and enjoyed working outdoors. On August 7, 1953 he married Roberta Prosser in Plainview, Texas. After retirement they enjoyed camping and made many RV trips often accompanied by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Billings, and brother James Billings.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Roberta Billings; daughter Tyann Bohne; grandchildren Clay Bohne and Shannon Smith and husband Andy; sister Mary Ann and husband Billy Don Wood; sister-in-law Joann King. He is also survived by a niece and several nephews.
In lieu of flowers we would encourage donations to the American Cancer Society and Providence Hospice in honor of the excellent care provided by the physicians and staff.
