Weldon Bailey

Weldon Ercelle Bailey, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Services will be 1 pm, Friday, September 23, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Lorena with Pastor Nathan Booth officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors, Thursday from 6-8 pm at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Dr.
Weldon was born February 21, 1930 in Hubbard TX, to Ercelle and Minnie Mae Lambert Bailey. He was the oldest of 7 siblings and always enjoyed the big family reunions. He was a Sunday school teacher and a Deacon, first at North Waco Baptist Church and then at First Baptist Lorena. He also enjoyed singing in the Church Choir for many years. He and a friend, Weldon Gatlin, went to Mexico on a mission trip to build church pews and help with revivals. He enjoyed playing dominoes and watching the Texas Rangers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lynda Parsley and grandson, Jonathan Boyd.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Annette Bailey; daughter, Lou Ann Burleson; grandsons, David Boyd and his wife, Melissa, and Nathan Boyd and his wife Kala; great-grandchildren Natalie, Ryan and Kaitlyn Boyd; brothers, Dan Bailey and his wife, Mary Ann, Bill Bailey and Jerry Bailey; sisters, Evelyn Adler and Janelle Davis; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
