W. D. “Doyle” Erlanson, 87, of Wimberley, formerly of Waco, passed away December 8, 2014 at home in Wimberley, Texas. Graveside services will be Thursday, December 11 at 11:00 am at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 10 from 6-8 pm at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco.
Doyle was born February 6, 1927 in Waco to Wallace and Allie Erlanson. He graduated from LaVega High School in 1944, then joined the US Navy in 1945 and served on LST 729 as an electrician’s mate 3rd class.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Gregory Doyle, and his wife, Patsy Ruth Erlanson. They were married in March 22, 1950 for 57 years. During the last 13 years he was looked after and cared for by his daughter, Ginger Brown and husband Lamar and his grandson, Clayton Brown and wife Megan. Prior to his wife’s death, they both worked in Tennessee at the Dollywood Theme Park.
He is survived by his daughter, Ginger Brown and husband Lamar, both of Wimberley; daughter-in-law Deana Erlanson of San Marcos; three grandchildren, Clayton Brown and wife Megan, Dustin Erlanson of San Marcos and Victoria Crites and husband Brandon of San Marcos; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Tom Erlanson and wife Opal of Waco; several nieces and nephews and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed and Polly Schaeper.
