(Walton) Charles Williams, Jr. formerly of Waco, passed away Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at the age of 73 in Round Rock, Texas. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, Oct 10, 2017, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr. with Pastor Ronnie Holmes officiating. Interment will follow in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Monday at Pecan Grove.
Mr. Williams was born July 22, 1944, in Temple, Texas, the son of Walton Charles and Bonnie Louise (Casey) Williams. He was a 1962 graduate of Waco High School and attended McLennan Community College. On September 18, 1964, he married Betty June Karas in Mart, Texas.
Much of his life was spent in the highway construction business. From 1962 until 1970, he was employed by The State of Texas and retired from The City of Waco Engineering Department in 2009 after twenty-one years of service. He enjoyed reading Texas History, both fiction and non-fiction.
Charles was a member of The Church of The Open Door where he worked with the food pantry, was a member of the prayer team, served as an usher and was a member of the Disciplers Team.
Preceding him in death was his father, Walton Charles Williams, Sr.
Survivors include his mother Bonnie Williams; his wife Betty Williams; daughters, Ginger R. Ross and husband Shane, Julie Ann Williams and fiancé John Strawser, Becky Hall and husband Mark; sister, Bonnie Eudoris Campbell; grandchildren, Cody Alanis, Austin Alanis, Amerha Ross, Shanna Ross, Bonnie Alanis, Grace Hall, Charles Hall, Jacob Hall, Caleb Strawser; great grandchildren, Lillie Alanis, Emmalyn Abbott, Renesmiegh Alanis, Adeline Alanis, Carter Wallace, Waylon Wallace, and Saylor Wallace.
