Minta Yvonne "Von" Spradling, 78, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at her residence after a long courageous battle with cancer. Graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, May 10, at Robinson Cemetery, 620 E. Stegall. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pecan Grove, F.H. 3124 Robinson Dr.
Von was born Oct. 31, 1934, in Hyman, Texas, to James and Emma Harkins. She was a member of Mooreville Methodist Church. Grandma, as we all liked to call her, enjoyed watching the Baylor Lady Bears and playing the slots.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Billy Bigham Jr.
Von is survived by her husband of 62 years, Arthur Spradling; two daughters, Linda Garrett and husband, Noel, and Sandra Bigham; and one son, Michael Spradling and wife, Caren; six grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Grandma will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the West Volunteer Fire Department, 111 S. Reagan St., PO Box 97 West, TX 76691.
