Virginia Pearl Schroeder, 82, died peacefully Wednesday, September 17, 2014 in Waco. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 19, at Oakwood Cemetery with Wayne Blackshear officiating. The family will receive friends 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 19, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.
Virginia was born in Bonham, Texas, March 27, 1932, to Chester and Maude (Reeves) Benton. She attended schools in Bonham. She was then married to Albert W. Schroeder, Jr. on January 22, 1949. Virginia was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Lorena. As the pastor’s wife for 21 years at Primrose Drive Baptist Church, she worked in the children’s Sunday school program, Vacation Bible Schools, Women’s Missionary Union, and the choir.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Judy Bragewitz.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Albert Schroeder; her son, Gary Schroeder and his wife, Sheila, of Oglesby; granddaughter Sherry Schroeder of Waco; granddaughter Christy Barron of Temple; grandson Keith Schroeder and wife Jodie of Waco, and grandson, Mark Schroeder and wife Chelsea of Sydney, Nebraska; brother, Vernon Benton of Grand Prairie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
