Virginia Bodiford

August 10, 1928 — January 24, 2018

Virginia Rose (Schaeper) Bodiford, 89, of Lorena, passed with peace and grace on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be at St. John United Church of Christ in Robinson on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 1:00.pm. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, January 28th at Pecan Grove funeral home in Robinson.
Virginia was born in McLennan County to Gus and Lillian Schaeper. She completed Lorena High School and attended 4C Business College. In 1950, she married Truman E. (Sonny) Bodiford and they resided most of their lives in the Robinson-Lorena area where they raised their family. She was office manager for Family Life Insurance Company for over 30 years and worked at Hicks Rubber Company until her retirement in 1990. Virginia enjoyed participating in the Cedar Brake Trail Ride with her husband, family, and friends for many years. She also loved fishing, gardening, going to the beauty shop, and playing bingo at Geneva Hall. Her happiest moments were having her grandkids over for sleepovers, cooking for her family, and being called Nana. She was a loving wife, mother, and "Nana" and will be greatly missed by her family. Virginia was a member of St. John UCC in Robinson for many years.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Bodiford; brothers, Wallace Schaeper, Harold Schaeper; sister, Amanda Peters; daughter Donna Bradburry; and grandchildren, Michael Edward Hand, and Brandon Bodiford.
Survivors include daughter, Darlene Lewis and husband, Ray, of Chalk Bluff, son Buddy Bodiford and wife, Dee, of Rossville, Georgia, son Billy Bodiford and wife, Sharon, of Waco. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Warren, of Lorena, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, along with many other family members and loved ones.
Pallbearers are Brian Tindle, Cody Tindle, Cliff Emmons, Carson Emmons, Cooper Emmons, and Ray Lewis.
The family would like to thank everyone at Senior Care of Hewitt and all the wonderful ladies in the Magnolia Unit at Wesley Woods for the loving care they gave to Virginia.
