Viola Annie Staas, 90, of Robinson, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born February 7, 1924 in Levi, Tx to Adolph and Elsa (Kurtz) Hahn. Viola was a graduate of Waco High School Class of 1944. She married Aurthur Staas and they were together 54 years until his death in 1997. She worked in civil service for a number of years and for 15 years, American Greeting Card Company. She loved to read her books, watch TV and read the newspaper. Viola was a lifelong member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and attended church faithfully each Sunday until she was no longer able.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Staas; brothers, Alvin Hahn and Bennie Hahn; and sister, Nora Gesford. She is survived by her daughter, Donette Peevey of Austin; son, Daron Staas of Robinson; 5 grandsons; and 8 great-grandchildren.
