Verna Jean Whitt, 61, of Waco, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 in Waco. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin. Visitation with Verna Jean’s family will begin one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday morning at Pecan Grove Funeral Home.
Verna Jean was born April 1, 1952 in Waco. She graduated from Chilton High School. Verna Jean was a long time and dedicated employee at the Hillcrest Clinic in Hewitt for over 15 years. She attended Grace Temple Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Jean Perkins; and one brother, Robert Whitt.
Verna Jean is survived by her three sons, Eric Weeaks, Justin Weeaks and Travis Weeaks all of Waco; two brothers, Perry Whitt of Waco and Lester Whitt of Chilton; and three grandchildren, Garret Conner, Jasmine Weeaks and Tanner Weeaks.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Hillcrest Hospice, especially Glenn Johnson.
