Tony Sanchez Carranza

Tony S. Carranza, age 74, of Hewitt, peacefully passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024 at home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 13 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Very Reverend Father Benjamin Magnaye as Celebrant. Interment will immediately follow at Rosemound Garden of Memories. There will be a visitation from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 12 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, with Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. conducted by Deacon Tony Arocha.

Tony Sanchez Carranza was born November 25, 1949 to Tony M. Carranza and Dora Sanchez in Santa Ana, California. He was raised in Santa Ana where he met and married Gloria Vargas his wife of 42 years. Tony was a Vietnam veteran serving in the US Air Force for several years. He was a devout Catholic and most recently a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Gloria; children, Manuel Vargas and wife Maria, Elizabeth Pelayo and husband Miguel, Maria Alaniz and husband Luis; grandchildren, Serina Vargas, Nicholas Vargas, Layla Alaniz, Alondra Vargas, Anabelle Pelayo, Amelia Vargas, Raymond Pelayo, Lilly Alaniz, Guillermo Alaniz, and Clarissa Pelayo.
