Tommy Sumpter

Tommy O. Sumpter, 77, of Valley Mills passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in Waco, Texas. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 17th at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18th at Waco Memorial Park, 6623 South I-35, Waco.

Tommy was born June 15, 1943 to Raymond and Eva Lou (Burks) Sumpter in Waco, Texas. He attended McGregor High School. He loved spending time with his family. His greatest interest was horses and team roping. Tommy was a long time member of Top Hand Cowboy Church. He was an outside truck parts salesman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gwen Sumpter; and step-mother, Billie Sumpter.

Tommy is survived by his life companion, Carol Hunt; sons, Tommy Ray Sumpter, Bobby Dale Sumpter and wife Jimmie; grandchildren, Josey and Jessie Sumpter, Cade, Trevor, and Payden Sumpter, Savannah and MaKynna Oliver; sisters, Pat Haun and husband Greg, Tina Holbein; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
