Tommy Lloyd Philipp, 66, of Hewitt, TX, passed peacefully July 20, 2016, while in Providence Hospital, Waco, TX. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 24, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco. Inurnment will be held at a later time.
Tommy was born October 17, 1949, to parents Lloyd and Mozelle Philipp. He graduated from Waco High School in 1968. He began his working career at a very young age, delivering the Waco Tribune on his bicycle. While attending school, he began sacking groceries at a local Safeway Foodstore. He worked his way from the bottom up to become part of upper management for Safeway Corporation. In 1987, Tom left Safeway to begin his final career of selling used cars, trucks and motorcycles. Tom did this up and down Franklin Avenue until he retired in 2013. Tom was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast, which he rode exclusively for 50 years. In 2004, he married his best friend and soulmate, Corina Salinas.
Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Philipp.
Tommy is survived by his wife of twelve years, Corina Philipp of Hewitt; mother, Mozelle Philipp; brother Jimmy Wayne Philipp; sister, Brenda Philipp Calhoun and husband Mike, all of Elon, North Carolina. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
