Thomas “Tommy” Ray Spillar, 80, passed away on April 10, 2021 in Waco, TX. Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 2 P.M. at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, TX. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Waco, TX.
Tommy was born on February 20, 1941 to Giles Spillar and Mary Lou (Sloan) Spillar in Austin, TX. He was a graduate of William B. Travis High School and served in the United States Army. He later married Nelta (Pursley) Wallace on October 30, 1967. Nelta had three sons (9, 6, and 2.5 years old), and Tommy helped her raise them. They were married for 53 years. Later on in his life, Tommy enjoyed doing yardwork and staying active by walking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Giles Spillar and Mary Lou (Sloan) Spillar, brother, Ronald Spillar, uncle, Kelton Spillar, and brother-in-law, Billy Peterson.
Survivors include his wife, Nelta Spillar, children, Dale Wallace, Mark Wallace, and Michael Wallace, grandson, Brandon, granddaughters, Melanie and Skylar, sister-in-law, Mary Lou Peterson, and several nieces and nephews.
