Thelma Jones

Thelma Laverne Jones, 93, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 in Humble, Texas. Funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday, March 23 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr, Waco. Interment following at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 5-7 pm, Tuesday, March 22 at the funeral home.
Thelma was born on February 20, 1923 to Clifton and Woodie (Parsons) Burke in Sumner, Texas. She married Blondell Jones in February of 1944, they made their home in Corpus Christi. She spent many years as a beautician and homemaker, and retired from Texas Gold in 1980. Thelma was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 364 and once served as the President of the Ladies Auxillary.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Blondell Jones; two sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include daughter, Jane Dewitt; grandson, Josh Dewitt; foster daughter, Annette Ardoin; foster granddaughter, Shannon Perez; great-grandchildren, Lexi and Hunter Perez; nephew, Johnny Bryant.
