Thelma B Fisher, 94, went to be with the Lord on December 17, 2016, at Jeffery Place Nursing Home, where she had resided since April 2016. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Rosemound Cemetery, with Pastor Jim Cox officiating. The family will receive visitors 6 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.
Thelma was born July 12, 1922, in New Dale, Idaho. She lived in Pocatella, Idaho and Salt Lake City, Utah, for most of her life until 1945 when she came to Texas. She has lived in Waco for the past 28 years.
Thelma had a full life working in many jobs being an over-the-road trucker to her last endeavor as a CNA, which was her passion to care and help others.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Fisher; and her daughters Judy Hazen and Barbara Fairbanks.
She is survived by her son, Mike Fisher and wife Carol of Weatherford, TX; daughters Carole Rosser of Stephenville, TX, Diane Pardee of Elm Mott, TX, and Jackie Fisher of Waco, TX; son-in-law Ralph Hazen of Teague, TX; along with 27 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be Michael Ganaway, Wayne Ganaway, Ricky Ganaway, Kenneth Martin, Keith Martin, and Brandon Martin. Honorary bearers will be William Sipes and Kevin Martin.
