Tex Wayne Black 66, of Elm Mott, TX went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11th, 2013. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 15th at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, TX. His brother Donald Scott will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday the 14th from 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Tex was born to Jimmy and Wilhemena Black on November 3, 1946 in Waco, TX. He retired after 31 years from Yellow Freight Lines. He loved to play guitar and sing with family and friends. He also loved to plant a vegetable garden every year and to take care of his cows.
Tex was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bill Scott and Rocky Black; and two brother -in-laws, Jim Webb and Richard McFalls.
Tex is survived by his loving wife Helen Black of Elm Mott, Sherry Perry and husband Steve of Waco, Robert Black and wife Joyce of Lorena, Steve Black and wife Cheryl of Rowlett, Jimmy Black and wife Kristi of Forney, Makayla Black Chavez and husband Mathew of Robinson, and his Chihuahua Tippy; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; 4 sisters-Era Mae McFalls of Waco, Patsy Webb of Waco, Sylvia Gaylor and husband Don of Chalk Bluff, Yvonne Webb and husband Lonnie of Riesel; 3 brothers- Jesse Scott and wife Marrieta of Waco, Donald Scott and wife Nancy of Waco, David Scott and wife Linda of Grand Prairie; sister- in-laws June Scott of Waco and Billie Black of Waco; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
