On Tuesday, May 17, 2016, our beloved Teresa Resendez was called to enter into the beautiful golden gates. A rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, May 22, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco, with visitation to follow at 6:00. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2621 Bagby Ave., Waco. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Teresa was born October 12, 1975, to Mary Galvan and Paul Castillo. As a child Teresa was active in band at University High School playing the saxophone and in church, serving as Queen at the Waco Missions and at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She had a smile that will never be forgotten. She also was a big-hearted fan of the New York Giants, and no one can compare to her wonderful home-cooking. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and a friend. She will be missed dearly.
Teresa was preceded in death by her grandpa, Alex Chavez; grandmother, Trinidad Castillo; grandpa Lazaro Castillo; uncles Joe Chavez, Domingo Castillo, and Johnny Castillo; niece LiliAnna Gonzales; and brother-in-law, Thomas Resendez.
Teresa is survived by her husband David Resendez; parents, Mary and Pete Galvan, and Paul and Rose Castillo; children David Isiah Resendez, Thomas Paul Resendez, and Angel Nathanial Resendez; siblings Ruben Castillo, Jessica Chavez and husband Ernest, Cecilia Castillo and fiancé Angelo Guerrero, Anna Galvan and fiancé Billy Henderson, Bethany Garcia, and Pete Galvan III; god-daughter Ke’Anna Gonzales; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
