Syvilla Ann King, 75, of Robinson passed away Monday, Nov 25, 2013 at her residence. Services will be 10 am Saturday, Nov. 30, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr. with Rev. Bill Pack officiating; burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 6 pm Friday at Pecan Grove Funeral Home.
Syvilla was born February 17, 1938 in Golinda, Texas to Jim and Florence (Hood) Duty. She graduated from Chilton High School. Syvilla married Ernest “Gene” King September 1, 1954. She retired from First Baptist Childhood Development Center after more than 20 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene; daughter Pamela Darlene King; brother, William Hill; and her parents.
She is survived by daughters Vicki Deckard and husband Alan of Robinson, Sheila Towner and husband Lewis of Lorena; granddaughters Holly Melton and husband Mark, Courtney Towner, and Casey Towner; great-granddaughters Avery Melton and Ivy Melton; two sisters, Clara Haberman and husband Earl Sr. of Golinda, Mary Ramirez and husband Lee of Golinda; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved Basset hound “Sam".
