Sue Pruitt, 77, passed away peacefully in her home Sunday May 28, 2017. The family will receive visitors 6-8 pm Friday June 2, 2017 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco.
Sue was born May 12, 1940 to Robert and Ruth Rochell of Marlin. Sue graduated from University High School in 1958, she went on to receive her associate’s degree. She was a loving wife, mother, MEMAW, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed outdoor activities and being with friends and family. She loved to go on casino trips with her aunts, cousins and daughters. She enjoyed bowling in leagues with her friends. Sue retired from TDC Gatesville Women's Prison unit in the early 90's and spent her retirement living for her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. You could find her at any of her great grandchildren's events. To know her was to love her, she never met a stranger, and was MEMAW to everyone. She was the light of our life and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Felix J. “Soapy” Pruitt; father, Robert Rochell; mother, Ruth and husband ConDel Kilpatrick; sister, Elva Burch; grandson, Jason Walker; and great-granddaughter, Quinn Phillips.
Sue is survived by her daughters, Debbie Holey and husband Dan, Ruth Ann Essig, Donna Carter and Charles Smith; grandchildren, Dan Holey II and wife Tamara, Clint Walker, Josh Yoakum, Kara Holey, Melissa Farney and husband Chris, Tiffany Phillips and husband Dan; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert and Libby Rochell, Gilda and Chuck Lancaster; aunts, Barbara Young, Patsy Willis; uncle, Willis Sikes as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
