Steve Thorp

Steve Thorp, 68, of Waco, Texas passed away peacefully on August 27, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. He was born July 29, 1954, to Robert and Mary Thorp, whom he loved dearly.

He was hard working in life. After retiring from Weyerhaeuser and Paragon, Steve truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; Nascar, fishing, football (Raiders), leisure car rides, and bird watching. He always rooted for the underdog. His happiest moments were when he was surrounded by family, friends, and his spoiled dog, Pickles. His greatest achievement and best decision was giving his life to Christ 5 years ago, giving his loved ones peace during this difficult time.

He is survived by his beloved dog (Pickles), daughter, son-in-law, 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild (on the way), 1 sister, many nieces, a nephew, and a plethora of great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, sister, and brother.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Robinson, TX. Services will be graveside only starting at 10 a.m., September 2, 2022 at Rosemound Cemetery, 3201 S. 12th St. Waco, TX 76706 with Pastor David Cozart officiating.
