Stephen (Steve) Benjamin Mayberry of Robinson, passed away Monday December 2, 2024 at the age of 71.

 The graveside funeral service will be held at Waco Memorial Park on Monday December 9, 2024 at10am with Pastor David Cozart officiating.

Steve was born in San Pedro, California on January 26,1953 to Ray and Colleen Mayberry. Steve enlisted into the US Army and served as a combat soldier in the Vietnam War. After returning home to the US, he was stationed at Fort Hood, TX. It was at this time when he met the love of his life and married Janice Gilleland on March 1, 1974. They were blessed with 2 children, Susan and Stephen Jr. before moving back to Waco, TX. 

 Steve owned and operated Superior Car Care in Waco. His hobbies were centered around camping, fishing, dirt bikes, boats, restoring cars, racing and motorcycles. If it had a motor of any sort, Steve was interested. He was a very proud veteran who loved his country and always thanked his fellow veterans for their service to the country.

 Steve loved God, his family and his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Colleen Mayberry, as well as his brothers, Raymond and Tommy. 

 Steve is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janice of Waco, TX, daughter, Susan Mills and husband Brent of Arlington, TX, son Stephen Mayberry Jr and wife Joanna of McGregor, TX, 4 beautiful granddaughters, Landry and Morgan Mills of Arlington, TX and Audrey and Emily Mayberry of McGregor, TX. Other survivors include his beloved brother-in-law, David Gilleland and his wife Sally of Waco, TX, sisters-in-law, Susan Gilleland of Whitney, TX and Marilyn Mayberry of Riverside, CA; and several nieces and nephews, family and friends who Steve loved dearly.

 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Veterans One Stop (2010 La Salle Ave Suite A Waco, TX 76706) where Steve spent many days in fellowship with his fellow veterans.
