Stephen Jones

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2012 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home Chapel, 4124 Robinson Drive, at 10:00 am with Rev. Vernon R. Gatlin officiating. No visitation is planned. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
Stephen Curtis Jones was given to us as a special gift from God on November 28, 1974. The world was blessed by his many God-given abilities.
Steve exhibited a musical talent at a very young age. His first performance was playing a toy guitar and singing Amazing Grace at age two. His ability to play by ear made him a rock star. His music was a witness to others.
He showed compassion for other’s needs as well as a great love for animals. If his gold fish died he would have a funeral. When the family cat passed he cried like a baby over the small homemade casket.
Steve was a bit of a rebel with his signature style and his own way of doing things. His long hair represented his way of being like Jesus. Steve’s praying heart for family and friends was unprecedented.
His faith in God gave him immeasurable endurance while being a loving caretaker. He never missed the opportunity to share Jesus Christ’s saving grace and quoting scripture. Steve’s faith and knowledge of the scripture was his rock.
His time with us was short but his impact will last forever.
Survivors are Weldon Jones, father, Glenda Friederich, mother, Genna Stotts, sister and her husband Shawn, Ryan and Kyle Hoffman, nephews and many loving family members including aunts, uncles and cousins.
