Sheila Jean Moak, 63, of Waco, died at home on December 21, 2020. There will be a Celebration of her life at a later date.
Sheila was born August 1, 1957 in McLennan County, to Martin Giles and Doris Jean Moak. She touched the lives of many and has left a hole in the hearts of her sister, nephews, family, and friends.
She had a love for gardening and was a talented author and the family wordsmith. Always willing to give advice and assist with any project.
Sheila never had her own kids, but her sister Loni shared her boys with her, and they were her pride and joy. She loved hearing about her great nieces and nephews and shared the gift of reading with them always giving great quality books to the kids. Each of them loved getting her gift of books and Sheila would always read them first so she could talk about the books with them.
She was an immensely powerful and adventurous woman who loved the outdoors especially the Rocky Mountains and the Grand Tetons where she worked for the National Park Service. She was the first woman to work as a Wyoming Highway Patrol officer. She continued her love for law working for Buenger and Associates in Waco for over 20 years.
Sheila will be missed more than anyone knows. Please tell a loved one how important and how much they mean to you every chance you get.
(In lieu of flowers we would ask that you donate a tree that will be planted in the forest in Sheila’s name. Please click on Order Flowers and select Memorial Tree.)
