Santos Duarte, Jr., passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016, of complications related to pneumonia.
Preceded in death by his father, Santos Duarte, Sr., and two brothers, Joe Torres, Sr., and Jimmy Duarte, all of Waco.
Santos, Jr is survived by his mother, Ruby Q. Duarte, and four brothers - Ricky Quinones, Vincent Duarte, Rudy Duarte (all of Waco), and David Duarte of Dallas. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews - Joe Torres, Jr., Armando Torres, Laura Torres, and Princess Torres, all of Waco, and La Tassha Duarte and Mathias Duarte of Kentucky. He is also survived by his beloved aunt, Mary Duarte (93 of Waco), and a hundred cousins from the Duarte, Arvizu, Arispe, Mireles, Ramos, and Torres families. He is also survived by his long-time companion, Linda.
He was born on April 5, 1960, in Downsville, Texas (small town 8 miles southeast of Waco), to Santos and Ruby Duarte. The family moved to Waco shortly thereafter. Santos attended schools in Waco, where he played little league baseball. He graduated from University High School in 1978, and was a welder by trade. He was a member of the Texas National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1984.
His family will miss him dearly and prays that he is resting in God's eternal peace.
