Sammie Veselka

Sammie C. Norman Veselka, 89, of Lorena passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will have a visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 3 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home.

Sammie was born March 29, 1933 in Limestone County, Texas to Henry H. and Pearl Brown Norman. Sammie married Raymond Veselka August 8, 1953.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years Raymond; her parents, Henry and Pearl Norman; sisters: infant Baby Norman, Katie Pearl Norman, Tommie Bottoms; brother, John Henry Norman; grandson, Stephen Ray Veselka; and son-in-law, Jerry Heaton.

Sammie is survived by daughter, Beverly Heaton and children, Carrie and Jason; daughter, Velinda and Steve Moody and son Benjamin; and son, Michael and Helene Veselka and children Amanda, Michael and Anthony; along with seven great-grandchildren.

A special thanks to Benjamin Moody for being a primary caregiver and allowing Sammie to remain at home through this great transition.
