Sally Chavez, 73, of Waco, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 1 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Deacon Tony Arocha officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 30 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Sally was born on May 19, 1948 to Matiana and Ynes Salazar in Downsville, Texas. Sally worked in Waco for 30 years at R. M. Crow and 5 years for ICS Jail Supplies. She was a kind, caring, and loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matiana and Ynes Salazar; brothers, Tim Salazar, Blas Salazar, Felix Salazar, Tony Salazar and Lewis Salazar; sisters, Kathy S. Lee and Beatrice Salazar.
Sally is survived by her daughter, Nancy Contreras and significant other Ricky Stout Sr.; sons, Steven Chavez and Mark Chavez; grandchildren, Paul Melendez Jr, Austin Melendez, Nicolas Salinas, Patrick Stout, Emily Stout, Alexandria Chavez, Aaliyah Chavez, Andrew Macias, Isaiah Sustaita, Serenity Chavez, Mark Chavez Jr.; great-grandchild, Haley Melendez; brother, Johnnie Salazar; and sister, Faye S Mendez.
