Ruby Faye Sparks, 80, of Waco, passed away at a local hospital on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco, with the Rev. Pat Cummings officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the funeral home.
Ruby Faye Sparks was born July 27, 1929 in Clifton, Texas, to Bob Terrell and Beulah Mae Williams Terrell. On May 29, 1973, she married the love of her life, Charles Sparks, in Waco. Ruby loved to hunt, fish and tend her garden. She loved baseball, especially the Texas Rangers. She loved her dog "Snoopy" and going to garage sales. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a good Christian woman. She worked and retired after over thirty years from the Owen-Illinois-Glass Plant in Waco.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; son, Burton Sparks; five brothers, Robert, Johnny, Vernon, Kenneth and Billy Terrell; one sister, Dorothy Dever.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Charles Sparks; son, Bill Sparks and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Stephanie Sparks and Daniel Crosby, Austin Sparks, Robert Sparks and Pam Saucedo and husband, Jaime; brothers, Don Terrell, Jack Terrell and wife, Jeaneen; sisters, Carol Crawford and husband, Billy and Betty Johnson and husband, Avery; daughter-in-law, Linda Sparks; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
