Ross Maas

Ross Wayman Maas passed to eternity on Sunday, February 18, 2024, in Waco, TX. He was 77 years old. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel with Rev. Larry Knobloch officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Riesel Cemetery. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m.

Ross grew up in Bellmead, TX. He attended LaVega schools and graduated from Axtell High School. He enlisted in the U. S. Air Force after graduation and served for 4 years, part of which was in Germany. After his military service, he worked in trucking and transportation with various employers in the Waco area.

He is survived by his son Terry Joe Maas (Jessica) of Reisel, sisters Brenda Maas Gochenour of Killeen and Karen Maas Jones (Mike) of San Antonio, 2 granddaughters, Haley and Marley, one grandson, Braedan, and one nephew and niece.

Ross was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Eddie Mae Maas, and his younger brother, Gary Neil Maas. In addition, numerous cousins will miss him!

The family wishes to extend their warmest thanks to Charles, Teresa and Lynn Smith for their friendship, care, and comfort extended to Ross for years. Charles and Ross were fixtures in Riesel and at family gatherings. Teresa was a constant companion and caregiver. Ross’s last days were showered with their tender, loving care.
