Rosa B. (Bewley) Jones 84, of Waco, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday May 24, 2015. Services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, May 27th, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Waco, TX. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 Tuesday May 26th, at the funeral home. Rosa was born in Waco where she resided most of her life. She married James Jones of Waco. While married, they lived in Germany and in Washington and numerous locations throughout his military career. After his death she later married Allen Roy Jones Jr. They resided in Waco throughout their 51 years together where they owned and operated a convenience store and a successful trucking business. She had 5 children and 4 stepchildren.
She was meticulous when it came to her yard and flowers and her painting. She loved watching birds and taking back road trips with her sisters, daughter and sons enjoying what nature had to offer. She loved wild flowers and old barns and garage sales and spending time with her family. She held numerous positions at the 3rd Street Baptist Church, and was currently a member at the Concord Baptist Church where she enjoyed her friends and church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter & Clara Bewley, her brothers J.M., Charles Ray, Walter, Aldridge and Carl Bewley, her husband James H. and later Allen Roy Jones Jr. and son James Roy Jones.
Rosa is survived by: her children, daughter Lue Ann Henson; and sons Mike Jones and wife Judy of Robinson, Pat Jones and wife Janie, and Wyndell Jones and wife Annette of Waco, and stepchildren, James Howard Jones and wife Gail, Brenda Nichols and husband John, Liz Henderson and Janice McCollum; sisters Lorraine White, Cora Mosley, and Mabel Sims. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren and one great- great- grandchild, seven step grandchildren and 20 step great- grandchildren and two great- great- step grandchildren.
Our family would like to especially thank Rebecca Sardaneta, aka "Theresa", for her love and dedication while caring for our mother and grandmother in her time of need, and a special thanks to the Providence Hospice nurses and Chaplain and Dr. William Petersen for the support and care they provided.
