Robert Kopecky, 84, of Waco, TX, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, with Rev. Stephen Daywitt officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home.
Robert was born January 29, 1938, to Paul, Sr., and Frances (Blahuta) Kopecky, in Waco, TX. He served in the US Air Force as a fireman from 1960-1964. Robert worked as an electrician all his life and owned his own business at one time. He was a long-time member of Apostolic Tabernacle of Waco, in China Spring. He loved his church family very much. He enjoyed working in the yard, gardening and antiquing. Robert was a kind and giving person who would do anything for anyone and was a loving husband to Martha.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, George Kopecky, Raymond Eugene Kopecky, and Paul Kopecky, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Kopecky; son, Shawn Kopecky; stepdaughters, Carla Shelburne and husband Chuck, and Lisa Chavarria; stepson, Shannon McCoy, and wife Melonie; brother, Larry D. Kopecky; sisters, Shirley Wilde, Nancy Bone, and Linda Saulters; seven step grandchildren and 15 step great-grandchildren.
