Edna was raised in Waco and attended school at LaVega. She received her Bachelor's degree in Art Ed. from Sul Ross University in 1967 and received special education certification for the orthopedically handicapped from the University of Houston in 1973. She attended Odessa Jr. College, received advanced study in Art at the University of Texas and Texas Tech, and was the founder of the Central Texas Rural Artists Association. She was a draftsman, an accomplished artist, educator, realtor, and evangelist. She came to know Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1933 at the age of 14. She was a very intelligent woman who loved politics and world events, but most of all she loved the Lord. She established a ministry that ministers to those in need and gives to those less fortunate while spreading the word of God. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a story to tell. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out. Attending the Texas Governor's inauguration last year was a major highlight of her life. She never met a stranger and was always willing to give a blessing and pray with those she encountered.
In honor of Edna, for the funeral, everyone is asked to wear a hat, just as she would have done.
