Reilles R. Garcia, Sr., 64, of Waco, passed away January 30, 2015 at Providence Hospital. A Mass of the Resurrection will be Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 1 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2710 Speight Ave., Waco. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 4 from 6 pm to 8 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 pm at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco.
Reilles was born January 5, 1951 in Rosebud, Texas to Margarito and Angelita Garcia. He graduated from University High School and in 1973 enlisted to serve his country in the United States Army. Reilles was stationed in Germany and worked in administration while in the military. After being discharged from the Army, he went to work for the Temple VA and continued his employment there until retiring in 2012, accumulating nearly 40 years of government service. Reilles enjoyed sitting outside on the porch with his dog, taking trips to the Louisiana casinos, and especially loved family barbeques. Being a grandpa was his favorite thing, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Reilles was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Feliciano Garcia; sister, Paula G. Luna; son, Anthony Garcia; and niece and nephew, Teresa Garcia and Frank Garcia, Jr. of California.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Janette Garcia; daughter, Sonia G. Davis and husband Jimmy; sons, Reilles R. Garcia, Jr., Margarito R. Garcia and wife Renatta R, and Frank W. “Wade” Van Riper; grandchildren, Jaydee Davis, Erika L. Garcia, Alyssia Ramos, Jazmine Delgado, Jaylen Delgado; sisters, Virginia Garcia, Angie Hazel, Juanita Acevedo; brothers, Erneo Garcia, Frank Garcia, Sr. and wife Mona of California; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other extended family members.
