RAYMOND LAYTON WARREN
SEPTEMBER 12, 1938 TO JULY 14, 2024
Raymond was born September 12, 1938 and the Lord set him free from the dementia that he has been suffering from for a number of years on July 14, 2024.
Raymond was the son of Layton and Jonnie Warren. He married Mary Sullenberger on December 27, 1956 in Belton, Texas. They were married 67 years. He graduated from Midway High School in 1957 where he was a member of the 1954 championship football team.
Raymond worked for Owens Illinois Glass Plant for more than 30 years. The things he felt most important were supporting his three children in all of their endeavors as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved fishing and supported Mary and her horse showing. He had a great sense of humor and rarely met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife Mary, son Brad and wife Tracey. Granddaughters, D’Ellen Allen and husband Brad, Dali Warren and partner Kyle Tumlinson, Emily Landry and husband Tanner, Marisa Strambler and husband Joshua, Britnee Bates and grandson Ethan Warren and husband Ryan Bednarz. He is also survived by great grandchildren Kagen Allen, KJ and Kase Tumlinson, Zeria Myles and Isiah Strambler, Piper Landry, J’Lon Bates, Eniyah, and Camille Tatum, sisters Edna Scoggins and Ruby Pierce. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and special friends Denise and David Ondrey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, son Donny, daughter Terry, brothers-in-law David Pierce and Scotty Scoggins.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mercy House for all the great care that they provided Raymond.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
A visitation / celebration of Raymond’s life will be held at Pecan Grove Funeral Home from 2 PM to 4 PM on Saturday, July 27, 2024.
