Phyllis Canipe, 78, of Waco, TX, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024. Funeral services will be 10am, Friday, August 9 at Pecan Grove Funeral. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 9am, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple, TX.
Phyllis was born April 11, 1946, in Temple, TX. She married Bobby Wayne Canipe in November of 1965. She worked at George’s Restaurant for over 40 years. She started as a waitress and eventually became their bookkeeper until she retired. Phyllis loved to travel. She enjoyed going on cruises and trips to Vegas with her daughters. More than anything, Phyllis loved her family very much, especially being a Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She went to all their events and was their biggest fan.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wayne Canipe, Sr.; father, William Scogin; and her mothers, Mary Scogin and Doris Scogin; son, Bobby Wayne Canipe, Jr.; and son-in-law, Russell Carter.
She is survived by her daughter, Robbin Yeager and husband Eddie, daughter, Michelle Raborn and husband Dwayne, daughter, Doris Barfield and husband Thomas, and daughter, Dottie Carter; grandchildren, Kyle Carter, Colten Niswanger, Jillian Cook, Jacob Raborn, Caylee Yeager, Paige Barfield, Aaron Raborn, and Emma Carter; her great-grandchildren, Jameson Niswanger, Carolina Carter, Warren Carter, Barrett Cook and Stetson Raborn; and her brothers, Malon Scogin and James Scogin.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Barfield, Dwayne Raborn, Eddie Yeager, Colten Niswanger, Jacob Raborn, Aaron Raborn, Kyle Carter and Cody Cook.
