Peter Albert “Pete” Betros, born in Waco, Texas to Albert Michael and Edna Jones Betros on October 2, 1937 and departed on October 25, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Pete never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. He loved sports, and he could be found watching or attending a football, basketball or baseball game. He loved to cook and have family gatherings.
Pete was a lifelong resident of Waco and worked in his father’s market from a young age, learning the value of hard work and was self-employed for much of his career. In 1955 he entered the US Army and spent two years in Germany.
His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him and he will be deeply missed and remembered for his infectious laughter, kind heart and unwavering love for his family.
Pete is predeceased by his parents and his sister Mary Louise Phillips.
He is survived by his children: Dawn Betros Connally (Wayne), Chad Betros (Tiffani), Eric Betros, Kristy Betros Evans, Joseph Betros, and Jessica Betros (James). Grandchildren: Colton, Tiffany, Christopher (Lexi), Christian, Bradey, Addison, B.J., Bailey (Shelby), Duncan, Brooke, Kaydence, Brileigh, Christopher, and Camden. Great Grands: Calista, Braeden, and Bryson. Neice Sharon and nephew Duncan. And special lifelong friend Thruman Dowdle (Marsha).
