Peggy Jean Erickson of San Antonio, TX passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 10th, 2023, at her residence in Stone Oak. Peggy was born in Columbus, Mississippi to Clyde and Daisy Belle (Morris) Crouse in 1941. Peggy was the oldest of six children living in Tennessee and Arizona before the family settled in Waco, TX. Peggy graduated from University High School in Waco and briefly attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX.
Peggy met her former husband, John Erickson, in high school and after marriage and his graduation from Texas A&M University they moved to Dallas, TX to start their family residing in Lake Highlands. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, Nana, and fierce lover of the Texas Aggies!
Peggy worked in Real Estate in Dallas and then as a Banquet Coordinator for Pebble Creek Country Club in College Station before retiring near her daughter and her family in San Antonio where she enjoyed being with her beloved grandchildren, attending Fiesta events, exploring the wineries, and seeing the beautiful hill country.
Anyone who knew Peggy called her “their favorite Aggie Mom” or “2nd Mom” as she had a significant impact on so many lives throughout her journey.
Peggy is survived by her sisters; PJ Gresham, Brenda Hammond, and Daisy Kemp, and brother, Clyde “Bubba” Crouse, and her children; Kelle Erickson Shanks, Traci Erickson Thomas, Ashlee Erickson Blakley, two sons in laws; John Shanks and Bill Thomas and her favorite people, her grandchildren; Cole Thomas (wife Maddie Thomas), Will Thomas, Sutton Thomas and Lilee Ryan Blakley, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will have a private graveside ceremony on Monday, December 18th, and then will be hosting a Celebration of Life in Dallas in late January 2024
