Patricia Goforth

August 25, 1957 — June 6, 2023

Patricia Anne Vetter Goforth, 65, of Kerrville, Texas, was greeted in heaven by her savior Jesus Christ, on June 6, 2023. Patti, or Aunt Patti as she was affectionately known, was born in Houston, Texas, on August 25, 1957, to David Lionel Vetter and Melba Ruth Atkinson Vetter. She grew up in Houston and attended Park Place Methodist Church. Patti continued a family tradition of attending and graduating from Milby High School in 1975. She then attended the University of North Texas and earned her teaching degree in 1980. Patti relocated to Kerrville after meeting the love of her life, Jim Goforth, where they were later married. Patti was a substitute teacher throughout Kerr County and became known as Aunt Patti to the friends of her nieces and nephews. Patti and Jim were members of the Kerr County Clown Club. She used her talent as a card player to help encourage and minister to members of the Junction House, of which she was one of the original members. Patti will forever be known as a master of all games. Wherever she was, Patti would be involved in teaching and playing a new card game or a riveting game of Rummikub. She even leaves a legacy of having a “Patti Rule” named after her. Patti also took pride in cooking everything from homemade pizza to delicious cheesecake. Patti loved her family, whether it was her nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and even great, great nieces and nephews. If you were her friend, you were her family.

Patti was preceded in death by her grandparents, Smith and Nellie Atkinson and John and Esther Barremore, her parents, David and Ruth Vetter, and one brother, Michael Vetter.

Left behind to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her siblings Donna (Bill) Spann, Bob (Leeann) Vetter, and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff and residents of Hilltop and River Hills.
